I tend to move around a lot. Even when it's not for work I like to get out of the city as often as possible. And on top of that the studio is small and must support many activities, so space is always limited. When I designed the VCO and filter toolkits the idea was to curate many complementary circuits into a compact form factor that would give as much flexibility as possible within the size limitation.
g unit is all about gain and volume shaping. There are dual voltage controllable state variable filters with simultaneously accessible high pass, band pass, and low pass outputs. The 2 switches change the respective resonance response of each filter so that they more easily self oscillate in low frequencies. There is a piezo surface microphone mounted inside with 2 instrument preamplifiers / boost drives. A harmonic intermodulating fuzz overdrive, voltage controlled Panner / X Fader, and a three channel mixer round out the selection. Everything except the 2 filters are discrete transistor circuits.
