THE POLYPHONIC ROSE ///// Celestial Monochord Resonator ///// Tri Resonator

Update 19 / 08 / 24 : SOLD OUT : Will be available again late September

The Polyphonic Rose was inspired by the idea of the celestial monochord, which is a musical instrument that has existed since the earliest recorded history (sumeria) and was essentially a 1 stringed instrument used throughout millenia by alchemists scientists naturalists occultists etc... as a sort of laboratory equipment for experimenting and demonstrating intervals and frequencies.

This is really an experiment for the experimenters. Expanding on the filter system found in Anti Rave, we have 3 parallel resonating filters with hi, band, and low pass responses available, also voltage controllable through optical gates. These filters feature a switched capacitor network that enables play with phase and comb filter like sounds. The capacitor switching for the resonators is activated by a single 8 stage clock divider which when clocked by one of the on board voltage controlled oscillators will mirror the frequency of the oscillator across the octaves.

The 3 resonators meet at the mixing section of the synth where 2 additional signals can be added. These include a 2 input waveshaper, an XOR output of the two oscillators, a clocked pseudo random chaos generator and voltage controlled white noise responses.

The 2 oscillators feature pulse and saw outputs, with pulse width modulation on the pulse output. These are Mosfet based character oscillators and while not clinically precise they do track musically across 4-5 octaves, and of course with the clock divider it is possible to achieve a much larger range of well tuned frequencies.

Additionally there is a low pass gate, a slew gen, and 4 assignable input/outputs

Through the divide down octave generator and the resonators, it is possible to create rich multi layered textures in which each layer is oscillating at frequencies derived from a single master frequency.

The Polyphonic Rose uses a standard 12V DC Power Supply, and a USB to DC converter cable is included allowing the unit to be powered from any standard usb charger or battery pack.
